About Me
About Me
Meet Dr. Shermnae — The Woman Behind the Crown.
Before I was known as the Destiny Doula™, I was the woman who smiled through silent battles.
I didn’t grow into this work because it sounded good on paper. I grew into it because I had to — to survive, and eventually, to rise.
Long before I stood up in that boardroom and called out the system that broke me, I was already breaking silently under the weight of perfectionism, pain, and pretending to be okay. But that’s where the real transformation began.
Dr. Shermnae
the destiny doula™
Why Destiny Doula™?
Because I don’t just coach — I midwife your becoming.
As the Destiny Doula™, I hold a sacred mirror to your life, so you can see beyond survival and remember the woman you were always meant to be.
And now, I help high-achieving women remember who they were before the world told them who to be.
This isn’t about pushing you harder or fixing what was never broken. It’s about tenderly guiding you back to the seat of your own sovereignty, where your power, softness, and brilliance co-exist — effortlessly.
Together, we unravel the scripts the world wrote for you, so you can finally live, love, and lead in the luxury of your true self.
People assume that because I am doctor, my life has been easy; nothing could be further from the truth.
My Story
My story isn’t the neat, predictable path most expect when they hear “doctor.” Long before the white coats and credentials, I was simply a young girl navigating profound wounds — emotional, mental, and spiritual. I survived hardships many would scarcely believe, carrying those silent battles all the way through college and graduate school. I built a thriving professional life even as my private world ached under the strain.
I excelled in my dental career, known for helping patients overcome their deepest fears and anxieties. I became a sanctuary for people at their most vulnerable, gently guiding them through pain and panic. But behind my confident exterior was a woman quietly unraveling — battling depression and anxiety, fighting to keep her own smile intact while restoring everyone else’s.
My path has been anything but linear or effortless. I’ve endured experiences that would shatter most: childhood trauma, emotional and physical abuse, sexual assault, heartbreak, career disillusionment, battles with depression and anxiety — all while somehow maintaining an external image of “success.” My self-worth was battered by failed relationships, personal betrayals, and the crushing weight of perfectionism. Even then, the world still expected me to be my best self — in the office, in my home, and in my own mind.
Yet here I stand.
I am living, radiant proof that you can survive it all — and not just survive, but thrive. With a smile on your face. With your power intact. And I’m here to show you that you can too.
This is only PART of my story. Yet, I am here. I survived it ALL. With a smile on my face. And YOU can too!
I used to harbor so many regrets and grieve so much of my life because of the things that happened to me. But I’ve come to see it differently now: I didn’t simply endure these experiences — I transmuted them. I turned them into medicine that I now offer to others.
There is life after the hurt. There is purpose in your pain. There is a way to be happy in a career where you once felt discontent — and if you desire it, there is a way out. As your coach, I’ll help you get crystal clear on what you want and what your soul is aching for. Together, we’ll untangle the worries, fears, and doubts that keep you from fully stepping into the life you deserve.
I’ll show you just how radiant, beautiful, and powerful you already are.
The H.E.R.™ Method
The H.E.R.™ Method isn’t simply a framework — it’s a sacred approach that helped me rewrite my own story, and it can help you rewrite yours.
It’s how I teach women to:
Be vulnerable enough with themselves to finally change their story.
Forgive deeply — including themselves — so true freedom becomes possible.
Hold unwavering standards that honor their worth.
Keep moving forward, even when it’s hard.
And always, always, choose themselves.
In Loving Dedication

Dr. Denean Carr
My mentor. My big sister. My mirror.
There was a moment I’ll never forget — when she looked at me and said, “Don’t let dentistry do to you what it did to me.” She knew the toll this path could take. Knew it deep in her bones, after stress and systemic pressure contributed to the illness that took her too soon. And yet, through it all, she never stopped smiling. Never stopped believing in joy.
Dr. Denean Carr was the embodiment of warmth, light, and grace under pressure. A radiant soul with a laugh that softened rooms and a spirit that lifted the heaviest of days. She championed me long before I had the courage to champion myself. She saw what I couldn’t — that I was called for more.
Today, I honor her by building what she never got to see:
-
- A space for women like us.
- A sanctuary for the soft strength we were told to silence.
- A throne for those of us who’ve suffered in silence too long.
If she were here, I know she’d say, “Thank you. Thank you for finally creating the space we needed but never had.”
I carry her with me in every client I guide, every life I midwife back to wholeness, and every woman I remind that she was never the problem — just the pattern-breaker.
This crown is for both of us.
